An example from Australia - North Coast Roundtables on Sustainability, NSW
Outlined below is a collaborative planning exercise for designing a Conference. This exercise was part of a series of ongoing regional-stakeholder discussions about a transition to a sustainable North Coast Region. The designers of the map observed the conversation, during a meeting, and then later mapped the key ideas and design principles that emerged from this conversation for the participants and stakeholders, without having them directly participating in the drawing of the map.
In this conversation map:
- the stakeholders grouped at meeting set specigffically for that;
- the designers were "contracted" to do the maps;
- there was no direct input from the participants in the drawing of the map;
- the map drawn FOR the participants and later presented to them.
